My name is Dave, I'm 56 years old and was born in Portsmouth (Pompey). I'm doing a charity walk in aid of Help for Heroes on Sunday June 26th or Sunday July 10th (weather dependent) 2km (1.6 miles) with my zimmer frame aided by my brother Peter and Father Brizz Miles-Knight and friends this will be my second walk in two years. The venue is either going to be HMS Excellent or HMS Temeraire, Portsmouth. I am determined to raise as much money as I can for the men and women who have served our country with pride and courage.I have Allgrove’s syndrome which is essentially a rare condition in between Motor Neuron and M.S in which the nervous system deteriorates over a passage of time, significantly quicker than the natural deterioration that occurs with ageing to the rest of the body.I am now planning for my next walk by doing 3 days a week walking exercise at the Landport community Centre Portsmouth.  I am also doing 2 days exercise a week at the John Pounds Centre Portsmouth which is equiped for wheelchair users etc. They have offered the use of their gym for free and it's much appreciated. My personal trainer is called Sarah Bunney. She has worked out a programe for me. The general public have been very supportive of my efforts and determination and have helped raise £2490.31 in 2010 for Help for Heroes. I hope to raise even more £ss this year
